- Team of 6 on the
convention committee.
- Convention has never
been held in Scotland before, so we wanted to change
that.
- Being held over the
Saturday and Sunday of the August Bank Holiday weekend
(25th/26th) in a great floating venue, called The Renfrew Ferry, which
used
to be a working ferry, but is now permanently moored on the River Clyde
and
is a great venue for concerts. It has bars and a restaurant, so thereīs
no
need to leave the venue during the event.
- We have the UK's top
five different tribute acts playing over the 2 days.
- On the Saturday, the
music kicks off with a performance by Doug Melbourne
& Tony Patterson, both ex-members of a tribute band called ReGenesis,
who
will be performing some Peter Gabriel songs.
- Followed by a band
called G2, who cover the Gabriel and early Collins era
of the band, during the 1970s. First time in Scotland.
- Finishing up with Face
Value, who normally perform a mix of Genesis and
Phil Collins solo material, but are putting on a Genesis-only show for
us,
covering the 1980s and early 90s. First time in Scotland.
- On the Sunday, the
music starts with the Carpet Crawlers, covering the
golden age between 1970 and 1982. First time in Scotland.
- Finishing up the
weekend are In The Cage, who have played the ferry before
and cover the period 1970 to 1980.
- On both days, the
music starts at around 7pm and finishes when it finishes
(we have a license until 1am!), but the event itself will start at noon
on
both days, for quizzes, rare video and audio shows, raffle etc.
- Special guest
appearance by John Mayhew, ex-drummer with the band. He
played on Trespass and now lives in Glasgow. There may be other guests,
but
they canīt be confirmed yet!!
- All members of the
band, past and present, are aware of the convention and
will be providing some very nice signed items for us to give away as
prizes.
